Low-Tox Naturalist Living

Low-tox naturalist living is a lifestyle approach that emphasizes reducing exposure to harmful chemicals (low-tox) while embracing a deep connection with nature and natural rhythms (naturalist). It blends mindful choices with simplicity and sustainability.

Here’s a breakdown of what it typically includes:

Low-Tox Living

This part is all about minimizing toxic exposure from everyday products and environments:

  • Home & Cleaning: Using vinegar, baking soda, essential oils, and natural brands instead of harsh chemical cleaners. (Our family choice here.)

  • Personal Care: Choosing natural skincare, haircare, and cosmetics free from parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, etc. (Our family choice here.)

  • Food Choices: Eating organic or minimally processed foods to avoid pesticides, additives, and preservatives. (YAY! For this coffee!)

  • Materials: Favoring non-toxic materials in furniture, bedding, and cookware (e.g., avoiding Teflon, flame retardants).

Naturalist Living

This aspect leans into a nature-connected, holistic way of life:

  • Seasonal Living: Eating seasonally, adjusting routines based on the rhythms of nature.

  • Slow Living: Prioritizing presence, simplicity, and intentional choices.

  • Nature Integration: Spending time outdoors, foraging, gardening, walking barefoot, or bringing natural elements into your home.

  • Natural Remedies: Using herbal medicine, homeopathy, or traditional wellness practices where appropriate.

Together, it’s about:

  • Living with fewer synthetic toxins

  • Choosing natural over artificial

  • Reconnecting with Earth and self

  • Cultivating wellness through simplicity

Best Coffee for Intermittent Fasting

There are many types of coffee, so it’s helpful to understand which ones are best suited for intermittent fasting. It’s equally important to recognize which types could interfere with a fast.

Choosing clean, organic coffee that is mold-free is ideal. Some coffee may contain mold that produces harmful mycotoxins, which can negatively impact health.

(I happily use Mountain Cabin organic, mold-free*, pesticide-free coffee. I order it online from The Wellness Store.)

Organic coffee tends to be healthier than conventional options because it involves less exposure to chemicals. While pesticide residues can be found in coffee beans, the risk is generally lower compared to many other foods, even if organic options are beyond your budget.

Research shows that organic farming methods can enhance antioxidant levels in crops like coffee. Since coffee is naturally rich in antioxidants, organic varieties, with their higher polyphenol content, can offer additional benefits.

Additionally, organic coffee is often sourced from higher-quality farms with superior drying and processing techniques. These practices help reduce the likelihood of mold* and mycotoxin* contamination. Even if organic isn’t an option, focusing on high-quality, well-sourced coffee is essential.

Caffeinated coffee is typically more beneficial than decaf for those fasting, as caffeine can boost metabolism, increase energy, and suppress appetite. However, if you prefer decaf, it can still provide some advantages during fasting.

*Mold in coffee, or more specifically, mold contamination in coffee beans, can potentially pose certain health risks if present in significant amounts. Mold spores thrive in damp environments, and coffee beans can become susceptible during harvesting, storage, or transport. The primary concern with mold in coffee is the production of toxins.

Holistic Wellness Business

Holistic wellness is a concept that encompasses different aspects of human health and well-being. It is based on the idea that each person is a whole being, not just a collection of symptoms or problems. Holistic wellness aims to achieve balance and harmony in the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, occupational, and financial domains of life. Some of the benefits of holistic wellness are:

- It promotes self-awareness and self-care, which can help prevent and manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.

- It encourages healthy lifestyle choices, such as eating well, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and avoiding substance abuse.

- It supports natural healing processes, by using complementary and alternative therapies that work with the body's innate wisdom and energy.

- It respects individual differences and preferences, by offering a variety of options and approaches that suit each person's needs and goals.

- It fosters a sense of purpose and meaning, by connecting with one's values, beliefs, passions, and spirituality.

Holistic wellness may be achieved by working with a holistic business mentor who can offer guidance and support in different areas of life. Health. Wealth. Community.

10 Reasons Why You Need A Side-Hustle NOW

Has there ever been a time in your life quite like this with the necessity (urgency) to be extremely wise, aware, self-sufficient, independent and prepared?  Uncertain times call for certain, positive measures.  It is not the time to sit back and watch.  Forget about standing still.  For your current situation and your future one...You need to hustle now. Take action.

A Side-Hustle = Financial Insurance (in uncertain times)

Here are the 10 reasons why you need a side-hustle NOW:

1.  There is NO job security.

The economy is wobbly to say the least.  If you have a job you need to accept the fact that it is not secure.  Don't take that personally.  Accept it and make sure you have a back-up plan or two.

2. If you have WiFi and a device you can make extra money. (pocket change or a lot)

Who knows if we will ever go back into lock down (or yet another pandemic), but if you have a connection, you can earn an income. If you are out of the house working, you can earn extra money with your phone or laptop on breaks, during your commute, running errands and even while you're spending time with family and friends. The internet is bursting with possibilities to earn extra money! The world is at your fingertips.

3.  Wages are not growing.  Raises are seldom. Right?

A side-hustle allows you to increase your daily income. You decide how much and how often you get an increase.  A job description dictates what 'the job' is worth.  A side-hustle allows you to determine what 'YOU' are worth.

4. The cost of living keeps going UP UP UP.  But does your paycheck?

Everything.  E V E R Y T H I N G is getting more expensive.  You absolutely need more money.

5. You are worth significantly more per hour than your job pays.

You might earn $15/hour - $50 hour,  but a side-hustle can increase that rate to $30 - $100+.

6.  You can keep your day job (or night shift) and still succeed with a side-hustle.

You might LOVE your job!  You do not have to quit.  But that extra money is quite nice.  You might hate your current job.  Your side-hustle gives you some cash security should you decide to leap and find another job - it will float you during the 'in between' - until you start your new, better job.

7. A side-hustle is like a real-world business degree.

You will learn entrepreneurial & leadership skills, gain personal development, meet new people and experience sales & marketing first hand.

8. You can work your side-hustle to suit your own lifestyle.

Setting your own hours is one of the perks to having a side-hustle.  Tuck it into the minutes or hours you have available.  You choose how you spend your time.

9.  You need to cover all your bases.

If there is a shift in the economy or your personal situation, you need to be able to withstand the changes.  A side-hustle offers that buffer and peace of mind.

10.  A Side-Hustle = Financial Insurance

Probably the most important reason is this one.  You have to protect yourself.  Your life is 100% your responsibility and nobody is coming to save you. A side-hustle or two or three;  a part-time income opportunity is waiting for you!

I have MSI:   multiple streams of income.  My art career, creative consulting, a wellness business with Tranont  and my writing career.  In the future I will add more streams.  5 would be good!
