Day No.8 - 11, 2020

We are now entering what experts are saying is 'a critical time' for the virus and potential surge.  I for one will 'burrow' even deeper into the comfort of my own home and 'shelter in place'.  

Thank goodness for art.

Jamie Beck Launches Photography Posters from her Ann Street Studio France Isolation Creation

I am overjoyed.  My heart is beating so fast because I just ordered a Jamie Beck photographic poster.  I can't wait to frame it and enjoy it for decades.

From her NEW webshop:

"On March 14, 2020 I started #IsolationCreation after the French government shut down nonessential businesses followed by a full nationwide lockdown sheltering us in our homes to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus throughout the country.

Professionally, I lost an exhibition scheduled in New York as well as commercial jobs for the remainder of the year which I rely on as income. I decided to take the power back while in confinement by challenging myself to create one original piece of photographic art each day to share, and ultimately build a community of creatives also experiencing similar hardships by sharing their works on social media using #IsolationCreation.

Each day is a raw expression of my experience, observations and emotions as we navigate through this unknown." - Jamie Beck 

About Jamie:

Jamie Beck is an American photographer who built her career in New York shooting for such brands as Google, Netflix, Nike, Disney, Lincoln Motor Co., Tiffany & Co., Armani, St. Regis, Microsoft, MTV, Cartier, Samsung and Veuve Clicquot and has had work exhibited at the International Center of Photography. She now resides in the South of France where she focuses on her personal photography work.

Such beautiful sunshine today.  It is crisp outside and the snowbanks remain frozen on the lawn.  My oldest Son popped in this morning and had a visit and phone call through the window with my elderly parents.  How strange and wonderful all at once.  Where did our carefree days go?

Italy.  God.  Please have mercy on  Italy.  5000 souls have lost their lives to this virus. 

Day 6 - March 21, 2020 - For those of you who don't know....my Daughter and her Husband - 2 small beautiful girls and her bestie (my family) are in the Middle East. This beautiful blown glass art was a gift for my Mother. The miles that separate us right now are harder than normal because I want to wrap my arms around them, but I know they are safe. Patti xo
