Flower Stylist Playbook: Ideal Height for a Florist's Worktable

The ideal height for a florist's worktable is typically 36 to 38 inches (91 to 97 cm). This is about counter-height, which allows most people to work comfortably while standing.

Why This Height?

  • Ergonomics: Prevents back and neck strain from bending over for long periods.

  • Efficiency: Makes it easier to cut stems, arrange flowers, and access tools.

  • Flexibility: Works well for most tasks, whether prepping, designing, or packaging.

If the florist often sits while working, a table height of 28 to 30 inches (71 to 76 cm)—standard desk height—would be more appropriate, paired with a comfortable chair.

For added flexibility, some florists use adjustable-height tables or sturdy worktables with footrests to shift posture throughout the day.
