The Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022

In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service. Get involved in celebrating Her Majesty’s historic reign.

Get involved

There are lots of ways you can take part in The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, whether you are a local authority, school, business, community group, or want to get involved yourself.

The UK has a long history of organised street parties to celebrate national events. Why not organise one for your neighbours for the Platinum Jubilee?

You’re welcome to host parties right across the bank holiday weekend, or as part of The Big Jubilee Lunch (see below). Read guidance on how to host a street party.

If you’re planning to host a street party, you can share the details for people to find out more on our interactive map.

If you are a local authority, you can encourage these events by promoting them on your communications channels and facilitating any necessary road closures.

All events must comply with the public health guidance in place at the time.

The Big Jubilee Lunch

To coincide with the Platinum Jubilee, The Big Jubilee Lunch will be taking place on Sunday 5 June.

Every year since the idea began in 2009, The Big Lunch has encouraged communities to celebrate their connections and get to know each other a little bit better.

Following the success of the first Big Jubilee Lunch, to celebrate Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, The Big Lunch will bring the Jubilee celebrations into the heart of every community again in 2022.

A PUDDING FIT FOR A QUEEN

To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, Fortnum & Mason have collaborated with The Big Jubilee Lunch to launch a competition to find a brand-new pudding creation which can be dedicated to Her Majesty The Queen!

The competition is open to all UK residents aged 8 and over, and will be judged by a panel of award-winning home bakers, professional chefs, authors, historians and pâtissiers including Dame Mary Berry and Head Chef of the Royal Household, Mark Flanagan LVO.

Five finalists will be invited to Fortnum's 181 Piccadilly store in March to create their masterpiece live for the judges inthe final competition round.

Jubilees are renowned for bringing communities together. The Big Jubilee Lunch is inviting people from around the UK to share food and fun in a nationwide act of community and friendship as part of the official Platinum Jubilee weekend, helping to forge new and lasting relationships from all walks of life.

Fortnum's will share the winning Platinum Pudding recipe for all to enjoy - with delicious food being at the heart of these historic celebrations, we're hoping the winning Platinum Pudding will be the star of all street parties this year!

The deadline for entries is 4 February, so grab your whisk and get out your scales - it's time to get baking!

The emblem design for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is based on an original illustration drawn by Edward Roberts, a 19-year-old student at the University of Leeds. Young creatives were challenged to sum up The Queen’s 70-year reign with their artistic skills. Edwards's simple platinum line design reflects The Queen’s continuous service and was selected by a judging panel of industry experts. The emblem features a purple and platinum design. The continuous platinum line reveals a stylised St Edward’s Crown, incorporating the number 70, on a round purple background associated with royalty and signifying a royal seal. The elegant font Perpetua, meaning forever, is an acknowledgement to the first British Monarch ever to mark 70 years on the throne
