Leaf Magazine. It's New!

Leaf Magazine Joins the Ranks of Digital Design Magazine Movement

(Chatham, NJ and Harvard, MA)- Leaf magazine is a new all-digital magazine that launched on October 17, 2011 with an interactive preview issue. The first in a wave of design-oriented magazines to focus on exterior design, Leaf will be published bi-monthly beginning in February 2012.

The magazine’s co-founders and editors, Susan Cohan and Rochelle Greayer, are both experienced landscape designers and writers with expansive online followings. Greayer writes the popular garden design blog StudioG and for Apartment Therapy. Cohan has a monthly column in Horticulture and her own design blog, Miss Rumphius’ Rules.

Rochelle Greayer explains the idea behind Leaf: "Shelter magazines frequently cover not just interior design, but also fashion, food, travel, and a wide variety of other lifestyle topics. We thought it would be exciting and valuable to apply the same range of coverage to all things design, but outside."

Leaf moves beyond what is typically included in magazines that focus on design outside. It includes features about outdoor furniture and accessories, gardens, fashion, and cooking, as well as travel and design history. All articles have links to supplementary information or sources that enable a rich, interactive reading experience that allow the reader to hone in on individual interests.

“Leaf is for all design enthusiasts, not just those interested in garden design. There’s an entire world of design out there that is focused on how to live stylishly beyond our doors,” says Susan Cohan.

In its first two weeks online, the magazine received over 650,000 page views and has garnered praise from industry professionals and consumers alike. The magazine’s website includes a direct link to the publication, a supporting blog named Leaflets, information about the magazines creators and staff, and subscription information. Subscriptions to Leaf are free.
