Today/Tonight we will walk you though the brand new kit, show you what's in it, teach you how to find your match and more!! So get a glass of bubbly or a cup of tea and get ready to learn all about how to feel fresh and beautiful with Savvy Mineral Makeup.

ALSO. If you haven't scanned your makeup with the Think Dirty app - do it! You are WORTH making this switch!

What makeup products are you most excited to find out about? My personal favorite is the lip gloss!

You are beautiful

Is it hard for you to read that? Well lean in. This is important- because we care about you and how you feel from the inside out. We believe that *every* woman can look and feel beautiful.

We believe that *everyone* - from the mom who's slaving away at home all day with the littles to the corporate executive rocking it at the office, should have flattering look and doable makeup routine that will work for all occasions and all seasons of life.

We believe that feeling beautiful shouldn't have to be complicated and that *anyone* can learn how to "do their makeup" in a way that highlights and brings to life their inner beauty.

We believe that you shouldn't have to sacrifice the integrity of the ingredients in your makeup in order to look your best and feel confident. (We call this "Confidence without Compromise.")

Wherever life takes you, Savvy Minerals is here to empower you to be the woman you want to be - are you ready to believe with me?! YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!!

What’s hiding in your makeup

Ignorance is bliss, but it’s time to unveil the nitty gritty on what most of us have been probably been putting on our skin. Knowledge is power and I know for me once I learned what was in my old beauty products, I was ready to take control over this part of my health!

Did you know that the average woman puts over 500 chemicals per day on her body. It is believed that our skin absorbs 60-70% of any topical products we use. Why not give your makeup a makeover and swap them out for their non-toxic counterparts?

We encourage you to run your current cosmetics through the EWG's Skin Deep Database or the Think Dirty App and see where they rank. But brace yourself, the results that I got were NOT pretty or clean.

Below is  a list of what is *not* in our makeup. One crazy thing we learned recently is that "nano particles" are increasingly popular in skin care products - they make them glide on smoothly and look beautiful. BUT. The molecules are so small they can actually penetrate the skin and wreak havoc on our insides on down the road. NO thank you!

Here are some other areas of concern:

**Mineral Oil - common ingredient in lotions, creams, ointments and cosmetics
- Made from petroleum
- comedogenic (clogs pores)
- may cause breakouts
- premature aging
- negative hormone effects
- negative immunity effects

**Talc - a mineral commonly found in eye shadow, blush, foundation, face powder, & baby powder
- skin irritant
- carcinogen
- organ system toxicity (lungs, ovaries)
- may contain asbestos

**Bismuth - a synthetic filler commonly found in eye shadow, blush, bronzer, & nail polish
- skin irritant

**Phthalates - a plasticizer commonly used as a fixative in color cosmetics, skin care, lip balm, & nail polish. Sometimes listed as DEP, DBP, DEHP and fragrance
- endocrine disruptor
- hormone disruptor
- carcinogen
- developmental toxin
- reproductive toxin

**Parabens - a preservative commonly found in facial cleanser, lotion, moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup
- carcinogen
- linked to skin cancer
- developmental issues
- reproductive issues
- endocrine disruption

-Lead is a naturally occurring element found in small amounts in the earth's crust. Although it is natural, it’s NOT SAFE for human consumption.
-Lead is a known carcinogen (meaning it causes cancer). It can be in your cosmetics and personal care products and DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TO BE LISTED ON THE LABEL. That is because it's not an ingredient, but rather a contaminant.
-The FDA has determined a "healthy lead contamination level" is acceptable in cosmetics and personal care products. Isn't that nice? Except when you apply those products every day, several times per day.
On the FDA's website it states that 99% OF ALL COSMETICS CONTAIN LEAD!

0Mercury is poison. It is a known toxin. Although Mercury is a natural element found in the earth’s crust (often in regions with volcanic activity) its natural status doesn’t mean it’s safe.
-Repeated or serious exposure to mercury can severely damage the nervous system including psychotic reactions, hallucinations, suicidal tendencies and delirium.
-Mercury exposure can also lead to violent muscular spasms, nervousness, irritability, tremors, weakness, fatigue, memory loss, changes in vision, hearing, or taste, vomiting, diarrhea, kidney damage and even death. When it enters the body, it is stored in the kidneys, blood, spleen, brain, liver, bones and fatty tissues.
-Mercury is terrible for anyone but it is especially dangerous for pregnant or nursing women. Breast milk can become contaminated and in utero exposure to mercury has been attributed to an increase in neural tube defects.

So Who's ready to ditch these guys and create a truly clean and green makeup routine?!

Why make the switch
A few fun facts on why making the switch is the best decision you can make for your skin and for your health:
-Savvy Minerals are made in the USA (the brushes are made in Italy).
-Savvy Minerals are cruelty-free, gluten-free, and mostly vegan (the lipsticks and lip glosses have beeswax, so they are not considered vegan).
-Calming to the skin, help to absorb excess oil and moisture on the skin and make the skin feel silky smooth. This is important because most mineral makeup uses bismuth, which is a metal mineral that - when worked into the pores - aggravates the pores and causes irritation and breakouts.

Here are a few other ingredients found in our makeup:
-Aloe - nourishing, provides moisture, maintains youthful appearance
-Vitamin E - antioxidant, nourishing, promotes healthy skin
-Aspen Bark Extract - natural preservative, smooths and softens skin
-Jojoba Oil - moisturizes, softens lips, antioxidant

The best part? Savvy Minerals last ALL DAY LONG… seriously, ALL DAY LONG! You’ll look as fresh at midnight as you did at 9 AM… YES please.

Who is YL
Young Living was started by D. Gary Young over 20 years ago. He is what we call the “father of distillation”. When Gary purchased the first plot of Land 20 years ago to harvest lavender he told his wife, Mary, “One day 1000’s of people are going to come and visit this farm”. He had a vision to bring essential oils to every home across the globe. And today, millions of families lives have been changes and thousands upon thousands of feet have trekked across that Mona, Utah farm.
+They have their roots as a family owned company and Gary and Mary still run, own and operate Young Living as well as the farms today!. Young Living owns their own farms complete with their own distilleries all across the globe.
+Young Living has developed their own “Seed to Seal” promise that ensures that they have inspected the purity of the oil from the planting of the seed to the sealing of the bottle.
+Because of the Seed to Seal promise, they are what we call, “beyond organic”. When Young Living buys land for a new farm they even check the history of that land to ensure there has never been any pesticides or herbicides used on it that could leak into the crop.
+Young Living Essential Oils don’t have any additives in them and are complete pure. This makes them safe for Ingestion.
+in 2017, Young Living welcomed Savvy Minerals Makeup into the family! Started by Melissa Poepping, Savvy was created to fill a need of having clean mineral makeup that also did what it is supposed to do- make you look FABULOUS!

Find your foundation

The nice thing about mineral foundation is that it is very forgiving. You can lighten or darken by layering the product on. And it doesn't get "cakey" or heavy. Most of us end up having three different shades and then use them year round. Lighter in the winter months and darker in the spring and summer months.
Here are some tips for selecting the right foundation color for YOU...
1. Check Your Veins
Push your sleeves up and look at the veins on the inside of your wrist. Are they blue or green? If they look more blue, you likely have cool undertones. If the veins look greenish, you’re warm.
2. The Jewelry Trick
Think about whether you look better in silver or gold jewelry Typically, girls with cool undertones look better in silver and platinum metals, and warm-toned women look better in gold.
3. The Neutral Test
Think about what neutral shades flatter you best. Does your skin, eyes, and face look better in bright white and black hues, or ivory, off-whites, and brown/tan shades? The former means you’re probably cool-toned, and the latter, warm.
4. Eye and Hair Color
Your natural eye and hair colors can help figure out your coloring. Customarily, cool people have eyes that are blue, gray, or green and have blond, brown, or black hair with blue, silver, violet and ash undertones. Conversely, warm-toned women usually have brown, amber, or hazel eyes with strawberry blond, red, brown, or black hair. Their hair tends to have gold, red, orange, or yellow undertones.
5. The Sun’s Effects
When you’re out in the sun, does your skin turn a golden-brown, or does it burn and turn pink first? If you fit into the former category, you’re warm-toned, while cool tones tend to burn.

Find your blush
The blush colors are so divine! Each month I keep buying a new color to fit different looks I’m going for. Check out the color differences on the graphic but also know that they are all highly versatile and you pretty much can't go wrong with any of them. Which color would you like to start with?

Savvy has you covered in the eye shadow department too! Use "Best Kept Secret" as an all over base color to build on. You can use the shadows dry, or wet them for a high drama "foiled" look! Also try wetting "Unscripted" an apply as an eyeliner, too!

Note: you'll want to have some good brushes for creating the eye look you're going for - I never paid much attention to brushes but I've learned that they are sooo important!!

Which colors would you like to try??

This is probably the one product you should *really* go clean and green on - we end up ingesting a LOT of lipstick - ha! I never really liked lipstick because it seemed to suck all the moisture out of my lips and it tasted yuck. But. This lipstick is like none I've ever tried before. It goes on smooth, leaves my lips feeling nourished and doesn't taste like, well, anything!

The lip gloss is beautiful, too - still neutral but with a bit more shine.

Are you a lipstick or a lipgloss kind of girl?!

(P.S. Daydream is my favorite!)

Tips for Applying mineral makeup

+Utilizing the Misting Spray: I never realized that you can build your foundation color simply by misting your brush before you apply it! This technique is revolutionizing the way we do makeup - finally, clean coverage no matter what your needs may be! Simply mist your brush and swirl into a small amount of makeup, tapping off excess. Buff it on in bouncing circle motions and continue going back for more foundation until you reach your desired coverage. Note: don't wet it so much that the foundation turns muddy!

+It’s all about layering! Start with a little then layer until you reach your desired look! This is how you can achieve a daytime look or a nighttime look with the same colors!

+Insider DYI tip: Want to try out a tinted moisturizer using Savvy minerals? Make sure to snag the Young Living ART Light moisturizer, mix your foundation with the moisturizer together in my hand and apply with fingers! Voila!
