The Warming of 2015 A 5 Step Plan

It begins in mid December.
Every year.
I start to reflect on the past year
and plan the coming year

But!
This year with a freak of nature around me
No snow!

I've made a large board
For the last 2 weeks
I've written columns of 'ideas'
writing them in teacher printing with black sharpie
onto recipe cards
sticking them with duct tape onto the board

Then after starring at this 'life' planning board
I edit it.
Peeling off or re-sticking the cards.
The ones I want
The ones I don't want

As always I've learned things about
myself, life and my creative career in 2014
and who I want to align myself with

I did make some mistakes (again)
I say yes to people, plans and things
that deep down I really don't want to do
but for whatever reason I feel the (guilt) urge to agree
then, ultimately I let them and myself down
because clearly it is not something
that is moving me closer to the vision of my life
it moves me further away
or consumes my valuable time

and about time
damn
it moves quick
and life is short
after all

some business ventures were just plain dumb.
when your gut tells you that some people
only truly care about their own success
you have to believe it

when someone shows you who they are
you have to believe them (the first time)
(Thank you Maya)

The truth is
one must

REMEMBER WHO THEY WANTED TO BE

and then go for it with all their might

So this is what I will continue to do

I think 2015 is going to be incredible!

Five Flawless Jeans Choices for Every Winter Occasion

(NC) Did you know that 30 per cent of Canadian men have a pair of jeans their partner thinks they should only wear at home? This holiday season, let's combine the comfort of home denim with sleek holiday style that can be worn out of the house. For shopping inspiration, here are five different kinds of jeans that will take you from weekday to weekend, morning to night, no matter what the occasion!
Holiday dinner and parties
Whether you're heading to a holiday party or a family dinner, you always want to “dress to impress.” The Levi's Slim Fit dark wash jeans do just that. This jean can transition from work right into night. Paired with a denim button-up shirt and a white tee, this look will definitely score you a party invite.
Working nine-to-five
When the weekend comes to an end, there's no reason you have to put away the jeans. More than ever jeans are a workday staple. Whether you are owning the boardroom or attending the office holiday party, the DH3 Jake Straight Fit Core jean provides you with a relaxed fit for those long work hours. When accompanied by a classic white button-up shirt, you can head to work confident and comfortable.
Guys' night out
When you're heading out for wing night with the boys, the dress code is “polished yet effortless.” Jeans like the Denver Hayes DH Bootcut Stretch provide a stretch waist that's perfect when you've had a few too many wings. A simple knit sweater – a great basic that provides casual, warm comfort – completes the look with ease.
Working for the weekend
Weekends are the ideal time to tackle your week-long to-do list. When you're Christmas shopping, you want to look good but, most importantly comfortable, in order to take on those bustling malls. The Levi's Straight Fit Button Fly jean defines casual comfort. Throw on a leather jacket and a graphic t-shirt and you are ready to take on the weekend.
Game Time
Whether you and the boys are watching the game from the stadium or the couch, you want clothing that's comfortable and allows you to move. The Silver Zac jeans provide a laid-back fit and relaxed cut. Pair them with a crewneck sweater and whether your team wins or loses, you'll look good watching.

100 Year Old Shortbread Cookie Recipe

I did not get the knitting gene.  I got the baking gene.  So lucky to have been taught by my Nanny Nicholls to make delicious baked goods.  Some of you have been asking me to share this recipe with you. I baked 3 dozen today for my Mother (the one who is a master knitter) and about an hour ago she said to me, 'If you happen to wake up in the middle of the night please feel free to bake some more.'

Enjoy!

Ungreased pan. 325 degrees until slightly golden on edges.
The more you mix this, the shorter and better the cookies will be.

Olmstead Nicholls Shortbread (100+ year old recipe)

1/2 lb. soft butter
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup icing sugar
1/4 cup corn starch
2 cups flour

Roll out. Cut in shape of choice.

Dunk Dunk Repeat. xo
